It’s November, so we’ll be taking a break from the Earn2Life travelogue (heck, those sites are already getting plenty eyeballs thanks to Earn2Life anyway!) and instead focusing on locales of interest to…
“What’s that?” Why, that’s the 30 days during which thousands of writers worldwide attempt to write a story that’s 50,000 words long or more. Writing commences at midnight on the morning of November 1, and those who cross the 50K finish line before the clock strikes December are WINNERS! With bragging rights and assorted hooplah!
If you’re taking on this task, you’ll want to visit…
Lounge in armchairs set upon a giant-sized open book! Gaze upon the names of the 2008 and 2007 winners joyfully proclaimed upon the NaNoShrine! Type on laptops helpfully provided inside the NaNoCafe, a cozy diner mirroring those in which Wrimos participate in 1st Life write-ins all November long! Update and Show Off Your Word Count via the counters just outside the diner and the Word Count On Your Head object you may acquire there! Be immortalized upon the NaNoShrine by participating in NaNoWriMo, updating your word count as mentioned previously, and reaching 50,000!
To fully enjoy all the fun and camaraderie this great hang-out has to offer, you should join either the “NaNoWriMo SL” group or the “SL Wrimos” group. Or both. Group events tend to be duplicated between them, but if you join both you won’t miss out on any Group IM conversation.
Come visit, and if you see me typing away in the cafe, say hi and tell me that you heard about it here. (And I’ll say, “Whoo-hoo! Someone reads this blog!” Heh-heh.)
