The conclusion to the week long charity event was hosted in Hall 1, at DaVinci Isle in Second Life™ on Sunday December 13th.  It was an event which saw popular poets and their literary talent auctioned off to benefit War Child International™.

Members of the literary arts community and patrons that joined DaVinci staff members Philippe Pascal, Karli Daviau and Stosh Quartz that afternoon were treated to the eclectic musical stylings of Eio Tuqiri.

An exciting bidding war emerged between Mykal Skall (The Hotel Chelsea), Persephone Phoenix (The Blue Angel Poets Dive) and Crap Mariner (writer, pod-caster and comic).  The bid was stealthily won at the last minute by Panacea Luminos.

The top three raising the most funds for War Child International™ were Canadian Poets Skylar Smythe ($24,500L) and House Ragu ($11,000L), followed by the popular British poet Klannex Northmead who raised $10,001.

The event hosted some of the most talent poets of Second Life who generously lent their creative gift to the cause.  A special thanks to ToryLynn Writer, Surreel Skizm, Ingeborg Apfelbaum, Mathoni Zuhrah, Corwyn Allen, Aoife Lorefield, DonJuan Writer, Stosh Quartz and Kayden O’Connell.

The highest bid of $24,500L was placed by Panacea Luminos.  Ms. Luminos is the Executive Director of Southern Tier Health Link, New York.  “STHL is a non-profit organization designed as a partnership which brings together healthcare providers and consumers in Central New York with technology that will improve health care quality, access, and safety while reducing costs.” Source: Web December 15, 2009 www.sthlny.com

In total, the successful event raised $100, 610L (or approximately $495.00 USD) for the charity and brought awareness to the worthy cause.
