One last post in the “all things Saints, Superbowl, and New Orleans” series, and then I’m moving on, I promise.
The astute reader will have noticed that it’s no longer Sunday. I’d intended to get one final Superbowl/Saints-related post in before the Big Game, but the wifi-enabled bar I chose to watch the game at had its wifi on the blink. And after the game–well. I was in the French Quarter when the Saints played in the Superbowl for the first time, and won. Use your imagination. Or go watch some video.
Apparently I used up all my body’s “not sick anymore” goodwill on partying hard that night, because I spent the rest of my stay in New Orleans pretty much relapsed. Didn’t keep me from joining the crowds welcoming the team home at the airport, though, or from camping out Tuesday evening on Convention Center Boulevard to catch the victory parade. But it did keep me from blogging much of use beyond some memories of Sunday night.
So here it is Thursday. Your correspondent rejoins you now from the Metro Lounge at Chicago Union Station, replete with tissues and cough drops. And, apparently, a commemorative poster.

I’d had one last go with the Search button, and mostly what I got were got event postings from Dreaming Mermaid Isle. This is because they’re giving away a Saints poster at their exceedingly cluttered landing point. Teleport in, look down and click what you’re standing on, then agree to buy for L$0. It looks like this:

…And that’s pretty much it for now. This weekend, “Have Avatar, Will Travel” will most likely resume its regularly featured Earn2Life-guided travelogue duties, unless I get distracted by an event notification or something intriguing like that.
