No. It’s definitely not “The Fab Four” invading virtual worlds (yet). Metaversum® the Berlin based developer of the virtual world Twinity announced the arrival of the new London England region.
Twinity’s Soho district runs from Oxford Street to Trafalgar square, where citizens can explore Piccadilly Circus and a vibrant replica of China Town. Major landmarks including the world famous Big Ben, the Tower Bridge and the home of the British Monarchy at Buckingham Palace will be featured in the Virtual London build.
One of the areas that Metaversum® does best is promote their new regions and stimulate economic development for entrepreneurs eager to experiment or launch business opportunities in the virtual world. It recognizes not just the need to provide server storage space, but actually promote a sense of community. It is not enough to abide by the “if you build it they will come” methodology. If you support it and build community around it, they will stay. And play. With that stratagem Metaversum® has its eye on the long term growth of Twinity as a viable business and social platform.
“London is one of the most popular cities in the world and we are very excited to open it to our members. In the upcoming weeks we’ll have attractive starter specials for online pioneers worldwide to bring the virtual city of London to life,” says Mirko Caspar, co-founder of Metaversum®.
As an incredible incentive Twinity offered a number of first residents and shop owners in the Soho region a free virtual apartment or shop floor for one year to stimulate user migration to the build which demonstrates a top-tier commitment to supporting business growth.
One of the biggest draws of the emerging virtual world is its realistic rendering of real world locations offering education and digital tourism. Virtual London is no different.
