You may remember from a previous blog post my talking up the Milk Wood Writer’s Meet? That was way way way back in November, when I was busy hunting up SL locations appropriate to National Novel Writing Month. Well, it’s moved. The Milk Wood Writers’ Meet and the entire Gypsy Camp have now moved to Scotland.
It’s pretty much the same wonderful place as before. Same chirping birds, same quiet river, same swan, same sheep. Same picnic tables with candles, writing goal apples, and animated writing stations–some with typewriters, some with pen and paper. Same ornate Gypsy wagon, if slightly redecorated with the official 2009 “Novel-Writing Machine” design acting as cover art for a collection of winning novels.
But it’s in Scotland now, and that means Stone Circles Everywhere. Which is neat. There’s one off in the distance with a mystic glow of fire or sunbeam descending into its center, all pretty and mysterious and such. More functional is the Stone Circle much closer to the Gypsy Camp, which Virtual Writers have decked out with dais and podium. We missed the 1st Annual March Poetry Fest, which was from the 5th to the 7th, but I’m sure there will be more live voice readings at the Milk Wood Stone Circle soon enough.
