The Gesture Zone has undergone even more changes since I last blogged about it. This should come as no surprise, as owner Bree Toocool was rearranging the furniture even as I composed the article.
To summarize: The camping bar is now way up high in the sky, accessible via a teleporter prominently positioned in the store. There’s more room up there and more events to enjoy.
Here’s the skinny on the camping, since I know that’s what you most wanna know about. Instead of camping pads, there’s a Camp Master 2.0 set to the same rate as before (L$2/10). It’s got 10 login slots available. Anti-Bot and Anti-Idle are off, but you can’t just run away. If Bree or any of the other hosts notice you in Away mode, they’ll holler for you in local chat. If you don’t respond, you get the boot. That’s kind of fun, actually. You wind up falling through space but then bouncing off the top of a private parcel below. It’s like a cosmic trampoline. Feel free to teleport back in as soon as you like; there are no hard feelings. It happens to everyone.
So that’s camping. After that, there’s an auto-service bar (I recommend the hallucinatory absinthe), a dance floor with cage dance and pole dance accessories, a big sofa to sprawl on, and that same trivia ball from before. A weekly raffle may be accessed via the treasure chest near the camping board. And there used to be a sexbox rental station, but it seems to be gone now.
Bree is still very active with updates, changes, events, and so on. I was camping there yesterday when a group notice went out inviting everyone to a beach party. Then it was like a pixelated mudslide all over the dance floor: Bree was rezzing up the beach sand. Everyone changed into swimwear and things were festive. So if something isn’t there today that was there yesterday, heck, something new might be there tomorrow.
The music is subject to change too. It’s not all ’80s all the time anymore. For me, this is a sad thing. For you, maybe not so much. This afternoon, the DJ seems to prefer hip-hop. That’s my cue to boot up WinAmp for my blogging tunes (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OOST 1, if you’re curious), but it might be your cue to TP in and dance the night away.
If you do, you’ll probably see Bree there, chatting with her guests and making them feel at home. When you see her, make sure you her that Kavella sent you!
