SL Styling: Keeping It Simple

Black may seem boring to some, but there are so many options when putting together an all or mostly black outfit, that it’s very possible to create something different and interesting.  For instance, this Tres Blah top features a lace texture on the front of the blouse, and the fabric is loose rather than the snug fit that’s very prevalent in SL fashions and current trends.

Keeping it simple can be an easy and chic way to go in-world. Make your outfits pop by applying a bright lip color, or include a bold accessory, like a large necklace or pendant.

Be The Star

I paired the Tres Blah top with a faux leather pant, to bring a subtle shine to the outfit.

  • Pants: Nylon Outfitters
  • Shoes: Fashionably Dead
  • Necklace: Ison

I also draw inspiration for my styling from music. Later this summer Daft Punk will be releasing their next album, “Random Access Memories.” I cannot wait! So, I decided to spruce up an old outfit that has a quote on it from the Daft Punk song, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” I used to wear this top with a system sweater, and simple skinny jeans, but with the weather teasing us with some days here and there, I opted for shorts from Fashionably Dead and a fun pair of sneakers.

Now, I cannot resist showing you this new dress from Ison that was featured in the last Collabor88.  The dress is both mesh and system, which I think works well for many avatars who might not be the ‘average’ body type, or who may not fit into any of the general sizing.

The sleeves are system, along with the flying birds, which means that none of the details will be lost. Also, I like the length of the longs sleeves because they partially cover the hands, which adds a cozy, secure feeling when wearing it.  The dress itself is very form-fitting and sexy – definitely an eye catcher!  I love the curve in the waist for its perfect little shape.  A system dress just doesn’t provide this kind figure-enhancing smooth look.

Perhaps you might ask yourself why I’m wearing all Truth hair in this post.  It’s because there is a sale going on at Truth, and I was finally able to take advantage of it — do some shopping, and find the pieces I was drooling over on Truth Hawk’s Flickr page.

If I had to pick a few different stores to continue watching for great and awesome things to come, I’d go with Fashionably Dead, Ison, and Tres Blah.  I foresee myself throwing many a Linden at those stores, all summer long!

Relax, Don’t Do It Now, it has been a full day of blogging and photography, and this blogger is tired, so I’m going to take a nap. Happy Shopping!!
